3 Reasons Why You Should Stay Away From “Learn Data Science in X Months” Stuff

“Learn data science” is actually a vague expression. How can we measure if someone has learned data science? One keeps learning about tools and concepts in data science and gradually improves their understanding and skills. Therefore, it does not make any sense to limit this process to a limited amount of time.

You definitely need a well-structured plan with an organized curriculum to start a career in data science. There are many different positions in the data science ecosystem so the learning path varies depending on what you want to do. In any case, the curriculum should follow a progressive path, starting from the very basics.

There are a ton of free and paid resources to learn data science in the form of videos, online tutorial, articles, MOOC courses, bootcamps, and so on. Whichever resource you choose, I suggest staying away from those that promise to teach you data science in X months.

I will list 3 reasons why I think this is not a good idea.
